The 3 Must Have Friends...

Over the past few days I've spent more time with my friends than usual, mostly because some of them now live a little further a field nowadays but I made an extra effort this week to see them which was lovely. Anyway, it got me thinking about how different all my friends are and how their all are my chummies but for different reasons so I thought I would do a little blog post in honour of 3 of my friends this week. So here are the Top 3 Friends that everyone should have!

The One You Would Trust With Your Life
This is the friend that realises that life is busy and she'll never get on your back for not getting in touch last week, or the week before that which means sometimes you can go weeks without speaking to each other, but you know as soon as you meet up you can just pick right up from where you last left off. This is the friend that will always have your back, will share her bed when you are having a shitty time and the one who you can call in the middle of the night for advice and not feel guilty because you definitely know that she honestly wont mind. I can honestly say my friend Sam is the most genuine, nice person I have ever met and although we aren't as close since she moved out of the city I'm still luckier enough to say I could trust her with my life (if need be) and I wish I could see her more often.

The Friend You Should Be On T.V With
I have a friend who has her birthday the day before mine, who also has a Yorkshire terrier and has exactly the same sense of humour as me and is so indecisive just like me...anyway what I'm trying to say is that we have a lot in common, basically when we get together it's like double trouble. Everything that comes out of Holly's mouth is HILARIOUS (to me anyway) often resulting in giggle fits and tears of laughter running down my face. Where ever we go we seem to get into some kind of awkward/funny situation and since we are both so similar we normally dig ourselves in bigger holes, twice as fast with a spade double the size. If you are wanting to meet Holly you can check her blog out right here. Hol's is living in Germany for a year so is blogging about her home away from home, be sure to check her out and tell her Almondface (thats me) sent you.

The One Who Knows How To Have A Good Time
Wether it's sitting in the house eating chicken and drinking Chai or if it's out down the town busting your moves you can dam bet you will have a good time with this friend. It has nothing to do with the fact she's a bit posh but quite crazy, it's just the fact you are on the exact same wave length. After the Jagerbombs are down your throat and your on the dance floor you feel like you've transformed into Beyonce and Rihanna but  everyone else in the bar is just wondering why you two are dancing in sync looking like your both having a fit. Cool? I think not...

I'm going to get so told off for these pictures :)

What do you love about your friends? Let me know in the comments below :)

Adios

Having a Lush Halloween

I'm such a sucker for anything 'Limited Edition' especially when it comes to Lush products. It stresses me out to think if I don't get this now, I will never be able to get it again..in all of the land...ever. What if I miss out on something that could potentially change my life? Ok, I'm over exaggerating but it would be a shame to miss out on an awesome product and this is why I HAD to buy these Halloween products.
Calacas is a Limited Edition Halloween Shower Jelly that's in stores now
Witches Ball (at the front) is a Retro Limited Edition bubble bar and can be ordered online...it smells very halloweeny.
Jacko (pumpkin) is a Retro Limited Edition bath ballistic also available online and smells freaking amazing, this smell is autumn/october down to an absolute T and I really recommend this to anyone.
Haagenbath is a Retro bath ballistic and is mint and chocolate, I thought I might as well give it a try since I was ordering the other too.

I'm loving Calacas, he's really limey and delicious and I've used haagenbath which was nice but not really up my street. I didn't realise it had chunks of chocolate in it and for some reason I don't feel clean if I use anything chocolatey scented on my skin...usually I just like to stuff it into my face as fast as possible.
The other two I am saving for nearer Halloween but I shall let you know my thoughts...as always :)

Hope all is well and I shall be back soon!

Saturday Night's In My House...

Working in retail has it's up's and down's, one down been that you don't get to celebrate weekends like everyone else, booooooo! But I'm not one to let such a thing as work get in my way so I thought I would share with you all how I like to celebrate my Saturday nights just in case you ever fancy visiting.
  • Dress Code The most important thing to remember if you are wanting to spend a Saturday night at my house is you must adhere to the dress code. PAJARMA'S! Pajarma's are always welcome in my house no matter what day it is but PJ's are an ABSOLUTE MUST on a Saturday night, the more mismatched the better.
  • Refreshments Wine (has to be Rose, Grenache to be exact), Corona and Jack Daniels are the choices of thirst quenching remedies in our house but feel free to bring something different...go on, be wild, it's Saturday. (PS no way is Jack Daniels my choice, personally I think it's rank but the boy lurves it alotta lot).
  • Menu  Munchies are normally determind by how long we have to wait to payday. For example the Saturday after payday we will have take away, the Saturday before payday we are lucky enough if we can afford to share a bag of Monster Munch. So, if you are planning to visit, the best time to drop in is the end of the month.
  • Entertainment Sh*t films seem to be unavoidable for a Saturday night. I'm sure they take all the good films off the site on Friday night just for a laugh. We then end up watching 'Killer Clowns From Outerspace' with Ian over explaining how it WAS scary when he was young. Has anyone else seem this movie? Anyway, just to quickly add the reason why we use Netflix is because Lovefilm guys that work in my town are the most annoying knobheads I've ever came across and that's putting it lightly.
How do you like to spend your Saturday night? Let me know and I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Horrible Habits...

Well, here I am again. Writing another non related beauty post. I haven't neglected beauty completely, I'm still wanting to finish my '7 deadly sins series' and I'm also planning to do the 'My boyfriend does my make-up tag'. Obviously this isn't Youtube so I will just have to take pictures of the disaster outcome and more importantly I need to talk Ian into it first which won't be easy. If you've ever had the pleasure of meeting my gorgeous boyfriend you will know he is a (deep voice) proper lad - he thinks everything from Lush is soap so ends up getting washed in my shampoo and quoted quite recently "there must be a lot of people working in that Pauls Boutique place, I see loads of people wearing the uniform. What do they do there anyway? Your nails?" (Just to clarify I don't wear Pauls Boutique but the charva we were driving past did).

Anyway I've rambled on enough so I'm actually going to write my post. Today I'm going to share with you some of my worst bad habits. Why? Because I Can :)

  • I'm at times very crude. I have a sick sense of humour and a very dry one so this isn't a healthy mix. I say disgusting things with a straight face. However, I'm not taking full responsibility as I blame my brother for influencing his sense of humour on me whilst growing up. I do sometimes make jokes that a middle aged man, blind drunk in his local pub would be too ashamed to say. Oops.
  • I say what everyone else is thinking. Or I wait until I'm drunk and say all the things that should never be said, EVER. This is why I don't drink (too often) and I always stay in bars with very loud music so nobody can hear what I say anyway.
  • Starbucks - bloody hell what do they put in their drinks to make you that addicted. This unhealthy habit started one morning when I was mega early for work. I just thought I'll pop in and get a drink and now I feel like I cant face the day without an Venti Iced Chai Latte and a blueberry muffin. This is why I'm never early because things like this happen to me which takes me swiftly onto my next point...
  • Being late. For everything. I'm not taking responsibility for this either, no matter how much time I have to travel to where ever I'm going something always happens like I realise my bank cards still on the table and need to go back, my dog has a poo infront of the door, I suddenly cant remember turning off my straightners. The universe just doesn't like me been early or on time and when I am it lumbers me with unhealthy Starbucks addictions!
  • Saying sorry, apparently - I asked my brother what my worst habit was and he text back (exact words) "You say sorry far too often!" Jeeez, sorry for been polite!
  • I'm hypo-emotional, I don't know if that's a word but it sums me up. If I'm sad, I'm like really sad and if I'm angry, I'm really angry. I also cry too much...I cry when I'm sad, when I laugh, when I'm angry. I think I've spent about 63% of my life so far crying.
  • As disgusting as it sounds I love picking at myself (or anybody else who wouldn't mind been picked at like a finger buffett). I like picking my nails, squeezing spots, picking scabs...I'm quite aware of how rank it sounds on paper on a computer screen but I cant help it..I have a problem!
  • I go around the gas works to tell a story or to write a blog post as you might of guessed so I think I'll leave it there.
Whats your worst habits? Leave me a comment to let me know.

Something different...

Oh hi there,
Hope you all are well. I have no idea what I'm going to ramble on about in this post so if you continue reading please be expecting the unexpected as I have no idea what my brain will decide to type. I think it will be easier to do this in bullet points as there's lost of unrelated bits and bobs I'm wanting to say...so lets begin...

  • I've been feeling slightly guilty about rejecting my blog. I initially started my blog as a beauty blog and to be honest I think this is the problem. I don't have the money (or the time) to keep up with all the hype products, I don't like to change my skincare and I don't really like to do reviews. Baring all these factors in mind this does not make for a good beauty page but I was determined to try. Anyway, I wrote my last blog post about Pet Peeves (read it here) quite spontaneously and enjoyed writing it. I got a pretty good response from you guys so I'm thinking my blog may be taking a new direction. Beauty will remain a part of my blog but expect lots of random posts just generally about what's going on in my brain. Is this OK with my beautiful bunch of followers? Let me know.

  • I don't want to seem all doom and gloom but I'm having a pretty shit week. It started off with so much potentail, Monday a mammoth bunch of flowers got delivered at work for me from my boyfriend, the reason? No reason at all, just a card to say 'Just for being you' and I finally got my certificates delivered from the course I finished in Feburary. I now officially have a Diploma in Beauty Retail, good eh? It was such a good day it gave me a new outlook on life, I got really philosophical and realised we all concentrate on negative things much more than we concentrate on positive affairs and I was going to change that! Nope, it's almost as if the universe is pulling out all the stops to go against my plans and quite frankly it's winning hands down. Don't you hate it when the universe is more powerful then you? I have getting myself into a really bad habbit with every bit of bad news I hear or every schnidy comment that is said I give the sky/universe the finger. I'm actually frightened I will start doing this in public, maybe this is the start of craziness haha! Anyone else do this or am I alone?

  • On a happier note, I love this time of year. Santa will be putting the wheels in motion to prepare for Christmas. I can go shopping for woolly scarfs and cosy jumpers guilt free because you HAVE to keep warm or else you get ill. I think I like Autumn and Winter the best because it always delivers what it promises...coldness and wetness. Unlike Summer, english summer is a liar and a con! I love dark nights in my little flat with my boy, my dog, loads of scented candles and lots of Chai lattes and Hot Choc. It's so much easier to forget the world when its dark outside.

  • How beautiful does Lana Del Ray look in the H&M advert? Just thought I would through that in.
If you read this whole post, congratulations. You are one dedicated follower and I loves ya! Let me know what you think of the changes.

Stay Lush

This Weeks Pet Peeves....

Oh hey there :)
I thought it would be fun to do something a little different and maybe even turn it into a little series. I don't want you all to think I'm so crazy maniac who hates the world because I'm not but you cant deny that some things just get right on your *insert appropriate swear word here* so here are the 5 things that really annoyed me this week...

1. When you bite your lip or mouth, OUCH! This gets me so angry...with myself. I never have the urge to punch myself in the face EVER apart from when I do this! GRRRR!

2. You have something in your hand, lets say for example a pen. You put the pen down on the table while you do a task that takes 3 seconds, lets say take a drink of tea. You go to pick up the pen and it's not there. It's not anywhere. You spend 45 minutes looking for it when it would of been quicker to just get another pen but you have to find it because you cannot accept the fact you have forgotten where you put it all those 3 seconds ago. You come to the conclusion you are haunted by a pen theiving moron ghost and the pen turns up 3 days later somewhere you would never of put it like under your next door neighbours doormat.

3. Those horrible toilet roll holders when the loo roll just spins round and round and round and you cant find the end. When you do finally find the end you go to rip it off and you get the tiniest piece of toilet roll ever so you have to start the whole spin round and round process again. Does this happen to anyone else apart from me?

4. When your walking through a busy shopping centre and the person in front of you just stops. Not for any reason other than to piss you off.

5. When you think your favourite TV series starts on the 14th September, you look foward to it all god dam week only to find out it's actually 14th October, boooooooooooo! How much longer can I go without any Salvatore eye candy...10/10 if you know what I'm babbling about.

What has annoyed you this week? And would you like to read more of these pet peeves posts?

My Lush Hair Care Box....

Sorry about the absolute poopy picture but I'm working so much lately that I hardly have a life, meaning I had to take this on my phone, in the dark or not at all so I hope you can forgive me :)

However, although I may have no life at the minute I can't complain especially when the gorgeous people in the Lush factory send me a lovely little goodie box full to the brim with new hair care products. No life but nice hair, yay!

I haven't tried all the products yet and I haven't spent much time reading through my training notes yet but I thought I would share my first impressions with you. Firstly, let me run you through the products: Fair Trade Honey Shampoo, Blousey Banana Shampoo, Big Conditioner, Shine So Bright, Sea Spray, Roots Hair and Scalp Treatment, Superbalm and Happy Happy Joy Joy.

First impressions were to get that Sea Spray straight on my 'do' and I can honestly say its the best salt spray I've tried. If you've been reading for a while you will know I love salt sprays so this is the absolute winner for me, but my only worry is that the tiny bottle wont last that long. I'm not to fussed on the smell of the Honey shampoo and I have no need for the Superbalm or the Roots as these seem to be more for problematic scalps whereas I'm lucky enough to have a healthy head. The Big solid conditioner smells divine as does Happy Happy Joy Joy and I cant wait to try Blousey banana shampoo.

Would anyone like more in depth reviews of any of the products? Let me know and I will certainly oblige.

Lots of love
